B-Camera Operator USA & East Africa MacKenzie is an independent filmmaker who plans to focus her skills on creating projects that exemplify deeper thought and evoke emotion. She attended PLNU and is currently attending ESRA film school in Paris for Higher Education of Audio Visual Technique. MacKenzie is planning to extend her work in the field of documentary filmmaking. |
Dustin Lawyer
Camera Operator | USA Dustin Lawyer began his filmmaking career by making home movies, and he eventually wanted to learn what life was like behind the camera as a cinematographer. Dustin earned his Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications, which led to a job in Maryland in video journalism at a newspaper-turned-television station. The ability to think fast on his feet and grab footage and shots on the fly were skills that proved necessary when shooting documentaries. In 2016, Dustin earned his Masters degree in film production from Dodge College of Film & Media Arts at Chapman University. Since graduating, he has been working as a camera assistant and cinematographer. |
Hope Ballard
B-Camera Operator Hope earned her Bachelors Degree in Documentary and Broadcast Film Production at Chapman University. Hope directed, edited and produced her own Evangelistic Documentary titled "Macall’s Miracle." This documentary went on to win Documentary of the Year in an RCTV film festival. She is a passionate and determined filmmaker, inspired to make a difference in the world with the projects she works on. |
Zhan "Floyd" Luo
Drone Operator | USA Zhan “Floyd” Luo is an independent filmmaker, editor, and cinematographer who earned his MFA in documentary filmmaking at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. He earned a BA in Drama & Film Arts from Nanjing University School of Liberal Arts. He won Best Documentary Award in the 10th & 11th Global Chinese Universities Student Film and TV Festival for his documentaries "The Star Watcher" and "A Parade in China" from the Academy of Film in Hong Kong Baptist University. |
Lidieth Arevalo
Drone Operator | Mexico Lidieth Arevalo is a DACA recipient and an independent filmmaker who earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in documentary filmmaking at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. She has also produced several short documentaries on social, diversity, and immigration issues. Her recent work emphasizes the importance of the implementation of ethnic studies curriculum at the high school level, as well as the binational experiences of undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children. |
