Meicen "Lesley" Shen
Editing Assistant Meicen Lesley Shen is a graduate student at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University. Lesley recently received her MFA in Film Production with an emphasis in film editing. Before Lesley came to the U.S., to study, she was working at Liaoning Television Station in China as an editor. During that period, she also contributed to many film projects as the director and editor. While studying at Dodge College of Film & Media Arts, Lesley worked as a director, editor, assistant editor, and DIT on more than 15 film projects. Lesley is now back in China working as an assistant editor on Fengshen Triology a blockbuster American film. |
Sylvia Cong
Editing Assistant Sylvia graduated with an MFA from Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. In 2015, she directed and edited a short documentary "Exploring Oaxaca", a journey of art and culture in the city of Oaxaca, Mexico. She worked as the assistant to a Polish new media artist Miroslaw Rogala. Together they created multiple media art series including "Analog to Digital" for his solo retrospective exhibition in Warsaw, 2017. Sylvia has also edited ten short films and documentaries, including award winning documentary “Spraying Under the Stars” about LA street graffiti artists which was selected to multiple film festivals and won awards for "North Hollywood Film Festival", "Phoenix Film Festival", "Pasadena Film Festival" and also a Student Academy Award. |
Yangchi Qi
Editing Assistant Yangchi Qi earned his masters degree in sound design at Dodge College of Film & Media Arts at Chapman University. He studied at the Shanghai Theater Academy as a director for his undergrad. Yangchi wanted to further his studies in film, because he feels that movies are the hope for all human mankind. Sound is a significant part of storytelling because it moves an audience emotionally. "I was touched when I heard the hopelessness in the survivors voices and wanted to help them be heard in a more powerful way through my talent in sound design. It is a privilege and honor to be part of 26 Seconds documentary sound team." |
Feifei Gong
Editing Assistant Feifei Gong is a filmmaker interested in making documentaries to show people’s lives and social issues. He graduated from the University of Arizona in May 2018. Feifei also earned his masters degree in documentary filmmaking at Dodge College of Film & Media Arts. His documentary, It’s My Heart won the Silver Winner of Documentary Short & Student Film International Independent Film Awards, 2017. Feifei has also co-directed the short film Timber which was selected and premiered at the Tucson Film & Music Festival and also was selected for the official selection of Portland Comedy Film Festival, 2018 and The Block and Dragonfly Film Fest. Currently, Fefei is making a documentary about child sexual abuse in China. |
Emma Wang
Editing Assistant Emma Wang graduated with an MFA in film production from Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. She is a versatile filmmaker who mainly takes the role of editor but also participated in many shorts as sound mixer and designer, production designer and visual effects artist. Emma discovered her passion in storytelling in her undergrad years when she was pursuing a bachelor degree in Finance. She edited a popular web series “Selected Original” in China that has over 1,000,000 views per episode. Emma has edited 6 narrative short films and 2 documentary shorts that have screened in many film festivals. After coming to the US, Emmas enthusiasm for big screen storytelling is finally matched by her dedication to the craft of film editing. |
Paloma Lingwei Chen
Editing Assistant Paloma grew up bilingual with a Spanish father and a Chinese mother in Beijing, China. She worked as a video journalist in Guangzhou Daily, one of the most popular newspapers in Southern China, and for three years, held roles such as director, producer, and editor. In 2016, she came to the U.S. to pursue her MFA in Film Production at Chapman University, Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. Paloma was mentored by Oscar Award-winning screenwriter David S. Ward (The Sting). She also interned at prestigious film companies including Kennedy/Marshall Company, Davis Guggenheim’s Company and Abbot Documentary Partners. Paloma currently works as a producer/director in a Chinese Media Company based in LA. |
Rishabh Thakkar
Editing Assistant Rishabh earned his degree in Mechatronics Engineering and earned his MFA in Documentary at Dodge College of Film and Media. He has completed a 2-year course in Animation and film basics at Arena Animation. Rishabh has experience as an Assistant Director on film and documentary sets which gave him the industry experience. He has also made many independent short films and documentaries which won the Clipex-2015.(National level short film competition). Rishabh recently also finished two films for Sikhlens, where 10 students travel to different parts of the world to make films on the Sikhs Community. Rishabh loves making movies on current social and community tensions around the world. |
Roger Blake Glass
Editing Assistant Roger has directed multiple short films including KiLLR, We Love Selfies, and Precious Moments. We Love Selfies won at the Independent Horror Movie Awards and was a winner at the Top Shorts Film Festival in 2018. Roger studied at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania receiving a double major in Media and Communication and Film Studies. He also received his MFA in Documentary Filmmaking from Dodge College of Film & Media Arts. Roger produced and directed a 20-minute short documentary and is currently working on his thesis film on the Chocs MI3 program. Roger is passionate about working on documentaries because of the strong storytelling of real life subjects. He is looking forward in continuing to work on documentaries and narrative films after he graduates. |
Yuxin Zhong
Editing Assistant Yuxin “Cynthia” Zhong was born in Guizhou, China. She went to Beijing to study Digital Media Arts in Communication University of China. During her undergrad, she directed and edited five short films. Cynthia has also worked on two documentaries. One of which was selected in 2015 China Academy Awards of Documentary Film, titled "Guide Dog." In 2018, She began her MFA at Chapman University, Dodge College of Film and Media Arts to study film production with an emphasis in editing. Cynthia has worked with many directors from different countries and edited many short films as well as documentaries and is proud to be working on 26 Seconds Documentary. |
Zhiqiu Jin
Editing Assistant Zhiqiu “Roxy” Jin grew up in Tianjin, China and moved to the US to study film and Media Studies at University of California, Irvine. She has directed, shot, edited and assistant directed 20 short films and commercials. The films Roxy has worked on include, Many Faults in Our Stars and The Wired Cleaner in a Normal Motel. Both received an official selection of ZotFest Film Festival. After graduating from UCI, Roxy worked in the music industry and gained her experience on music video editing. Roxy also earned her MFA at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts with an emphasis in editing. The documentary she edited, Days of Blind has been selected as a finalist in Independent Shorts Awards 2020. |
Yi Yang
Editing Assistant Yi "Roy" Yang earned his masters degree at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. During Roy's childhood, he showed great interest in film, and during his high school years, he founded a movie club called, "Shanafanghua", which earned great recognition in Hangzhou. Roy has also edited many films such as, The Steve and the Dead Woman, which was accepted into the Miami International Film Festival. And also nominated for best editing in the Miami Web Fest for Meme Boy. Roy is looking forward in working on the 26 Seconds documentary this Summer 2020. |
Jiaxin (Teddy) Qi
Editing Assistant Jiaxin Qi is currently a first-year graduate producer at Dodge school of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University. She received her BA with a major in Film and Television and a minor in Visual Arts at Boston University in 2018. Jiaxin produced and directed a 15-minute documentary about drag queens in 2018, and directed a short thesis film in 2017. Jiaxin is passionate about finding meaningful stories in everyday life and turning them into motion pictures. “Be ashamed to die until you have achieved some victory for humanity” says Horace Mann has always been her motivation to create more powerful and meaningful films. |
Joe Caracappa
Editing Assistant Joe Caracappa earned his masters degree at Chapman University of Dodge College of Film and Media Arts emphasizing in editing. Joe is known for his work on Unscathed and Continue as a producer, writer, director, cinematographer, editor, and actor. He also has edited One Man's Fortune and Lightning Man. He has worked with visual effects for multiple TV series, Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow & DC's Legends of Tomorrow. |
Tyler Oglesby
Editing Assistant Tyler Oglesby earned his masters degree at Chapman University of Dodge College of Film and Media Arts with an emphasis in video editing. Tyler has cut numerous short films and has performed a wide variety of roles on other film sets. After completing his Masters degree Tyler has hopes to cut feature films and write and direct independent cinema. Tyler is proud to have worked on the 26 Seconds documentary with Professor and Director Kelly Galindo. |
Ruizi Yang
Editing Assistant Ruizi Yang earned her M.F.A film program at Chapman University, Dodge College of Film and Media Arts emphasizing editing. Ruizi started her film making journey as an undergrad at State University in New York. She has made various independent works in experimental films, photography, animation, and sound pieces. She continues her artistic journey as an editor and has been working on various student films. Director’s Journey to Success, has been selected into San Diego Asian Film Festival 2018. |
Apoorva Sankar
Editing Assistant Apoorva Sankar earned her Master's degree in Fine Arts (Film Production with Editing Emphasis) from Dodge College of Media and Arts, at Chapman University. She is enthusiastic to understand the technical and creative aspects of filmmaking. Apoorvas strengths include film editing, communication skills, and the art of storytelling. Apoorva is actively searching for an entry-level editing opportunity where she can contribute her technical skills to filmmaking in the entertainment industry. |
Stephen Ragsdale
Editing Assistant Stephen earned his undergraduate degree in News and Documentary at Dodge of Film & Media Arts at Chapman University. Stephen has been involved in various videography over the course of eight years and is proud to be a part of Community Voices at Dodge College in film editing. Stephen hopes to use filmmaking as a method of truthful storytelling and inspiration. |
Luis Reyes
Editing Assistant Luis Reyes earned his BFA at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University. He studied Film Production with prospects in Editing and Directing. Luis has been making films since he was six years old, creating stop motion films with his family camera. Luis hopes to continue to grow as an artist and as an individual through the art and practice of filmmaking. |
Jingxi Zhu
Editing Assistant Jingxi earned her M.F.A in Film Production with an emphasis in editing at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, Chapman University. She was the editor of After, which was officially selected into The American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival 2020. She also edited the short film To Kern which was adapted from Alexander Pushkin’s poem, To Kern which was selected into multiple film festivals, which included The Madrid International Film Festival, & the LA Independent Film Festival Awards 2020. |
Micah Wear
Editing Assistant Micah Wear earned a masters degree in Film Production with an emphasis in Editing at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University. She has been editing since she was 14 years-old. By developing her skills with a background of E-sports footage throughout high school and her undergraduate studies at LSU. Micah’s work outside of E-sports includes the short film One Night off Campus, which was accepted to the Louisiana International Film Festival. Micah is proud to have worked on the 26 Seconds project giving victims and survivors globaly a voice to be heard. |
